“Heal first. Love can wait but self… cannot.”

She/Her/Hers

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, 2017/Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Currently accepting new clients for a waitlist.

What’s therapy with me like? I prefer to focus on trauma and addressing a client’s negative thinking in order to better their view on challenging situations by using techniques associated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Acceptance and change are two components of therapy that I hope to provide every client that enters this therapeutic space, and Solution-Focused Therapy is the perfect tool for clients to use their strengths to achieve their goals and allows clients to identify what they do well.

How I’ve kept learning… I continue to further my knowledge by attending webinars, conferences, and trainings. I’m also a Mental Health First Aid Instructor!

Who do I work with? I enjoy working with individuals with ages ranging from 13 and older.

My impacting identities are… I am a cisgender, fair-skinned Black woman that comes from a blended family. I grew up in the Baptist church but have recently navigated away from the church to worship in my own way. I tend to think of myself as more spiritual than religious. I am diagnosed with depression and anxiety but am an active participant in therapy.

I feel allied/aware/informed/knowledgeable about… I am part of the Black community but am aware and allied with POC communities as well. I am knowledgeable and allied with the LGBTQIA+ communities and hope to continue to further my knowledge

I am the best fit for a client who… appreciates a “straight, no chaser” type of approach and enjoys laughing every now and then. I prefer my clients to show up as their true selves as I will do the same as we collaborate to achieve their goals.

I am not a good fit for a client who… is looking for advice or just someone to talk to. There is work to be done and I am willing to do it with you as long as you are willing.

What makes me unique? As a therapist, I like to create a space where you feel as though you’re just hanging out and chatting it up with your blunt and to the point homegirl. You will be comfortable to express yourself in a safe and judgment free zone as I’ve created this space for you to be you.

The Practical Stuff

What insurances do I accept? I am in network with Cigna/Evernorth and am in the process of being credentialed with Carefirst Blue Cross Blue Shield. Please see our Rates and Insurance page for more information.

Do I offer telehealth or in person sessions? I offer teletherapy and prefer it but will offer in-person based on client needs.

Am I taking on new clients? Yes! I am accepting clients for evening and weekend times! I am taking new Cigna and out of pocket clients, and am taking Carefirst clients on a case-by-case basis while I wait for my credentialing to finish.

The Fun Stuff

Did you know…I was born without an eye color. Weird, I know but my eyes change colors and can be two different colors at one time so the doc left my birth certificate blank for eye color, LOL!

Any pets? I have a two year old Pitbull named Ace.
