What’s therapy with me like? I focus on issues related to sleep, sex, & death (or in other words rest, play, & grief), utilizing Psychodynamic therapy (Internal Family Systems, Object Relations, and Attachment styles); Cognitive-behavioral therapy; and Mindfulness-based therapy. I feel that these three modalities create a well-rounded approach to working with almost any client and they offer a holistic body of tools and perspectives in order to work through challenges and make gains in therapy.
Please note: Like online dating, finding the right therapist can involve many stops and starts. I am committed to making sure that you find what you are looking for in therapy. A therapeutic relationship takes matching skills, needs, and personalities. If you think I may be a good fit for you, let’s take the plunge and see how it goes. If we need to pivot and find you a better therapeutic match, no worries. I will help you identify what you need, and we can work together to find you the best therapeutic match for your needs.
Who do I work with? I work with clients in age 16+ (young adults, adults, middle age, and older adults) individuals.
My impacting identities are… I believe my experiences with the healthcare system and my own diagnosis inform the way that I see the world and work with clients.
I feel allied/aware/part of/informed/knowledgeable about… Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; Environmental Justice; and Intersectional Feminism.
I am the best fit for a client who… is motivated to begin therapy and work through challenges in their life, AND they also may not know where to start. I work best with clients who are self-reflective and possess a desire to come to therapy and do the work together.
I am not a good fit for a client who… is looking for highly directive therapy or quick-solutions.
What makes me unique? I am a creative and warm therapist. I am great at helping others sift through the overwhelm and stuckness and synthesize data in order to reflect back to my clients the parts and pieces that seem most helpful to them.
The Practical Stuff
What insurances do I accept? I am currently not in network with any insurances, but I offer therapy for a sliding scale between $30 – 70, based on what the client can afford.
Do I offer telehealth or in person sessions? I prefer teletherapy, and I am willing to discuss in-person options on an individual basis.
Am I taking on new clients? No, at this time I am not accepting new clients. If you feel that we would be a very good fit, you can fill out the form below to be added to my waitlist.
The Fun Stuff
Did you know… I lived and worked at a wilderness-therapeutic boarding school for 3 years. We chopped down trees, built our community tents, and cooked our food over fire.
Any pets? I have a sweet doggie named Bear-Bear. He is a Chow Chow – German Shepard mutt. Bear self-identifies as a stubborn boy, enemy of thunderstorms, and lover of naps, walks, and cheese!
