What’s therapy with me like? I focus on depression, anxiety, and trauma, using Gestalt, Person-centered, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

My approach to psychotherapy is holistic and feminist. I believe that mind, body, spirit, community, culture, and institutions are all essentially interwoven into the issues that we face.

The integrative, humanistic modalities I practice work with both mind and body, and they can help access and shift old patterns in a powerful and enduring way, as opposed to symptom-targeted approaches which may treat issues in a more superficial manner. I view the therapeutic relationship as an equal, collaborative approach to therapy that allows for creativity and spontaneity and respects the unique needs of each client.

How I’ve kept learning...There are a number of ways in which I keep learning! I am currently in a one-year fellowship with the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis. Additionally, I’m in a training cohort with the Laurel Psychodrama Training Institute (and have regularly attended psychodrama workshops there for the past 3 years). I’m also currently completing a course in sand-tray competencies with the Sand Therapy Training Institute. I have also attended a number of professional development workshops in various subjects over the last few years, such as gestalt therapy, therapeutic applications of improvisation, and mindfulness.

Who do I work with? Adults (18+), primarily individuals.

My impacting identities are…I am an artist.

I feel allied/aware/part of/informed/knowledgeable about…non-binary (allied), trans (allied), and queer communities (allied).

I am the best fit for a client who…is curious and open to exploring the wilderness of their inner landscape.

I am not a good fit for a client who…wants a highly structured, predictable therapeutic session.

What makes me unique? I am a life-long learner of the world’s mysteries, so I draw from many different perspectives in my practice. I have an undergraduate degree in Physics, I am a musician and arts organizer, and I have practiced yoga and meditation for 20 years. I am also a tarot reader (not a fortune teller!), and I use the archetypes of the tarot to help people see old issues through a new lens.

The Practical Stuff

What insurances do I accept? I am in network with Cigna, and will soon be in network with Carefirst BCBS.

Do I offer telehealth or in person sessions? During Covid, I am offering teletherapy, and can offer in-person or teletherapy when the pandemic eases.

The Fun Stuff

Did you know…One of my absolute favorite things to do is sit in a sauna. And I am in a Fleetwood Mac cover band.

Any pets? I have two orange tabby cats. They are sisters, and they’re named Taco and Tabooli!
