Join us for Creative Cadence: a group musical improvisation experience
Creative Cadence is a music based experience collectively created by its participants to explore creativity and connection through active music making with various musical instruments. Sessions will incorporate structured and unstructured music improvisation with a focus on a variety of skills and concepts that could contribute to everyday wellness. No prior musical experience required. Come make some music with us the third Thursday of every month!
This workshop is led by Kelly Phair, who has been working as a board certified music therapist since 2013. Kelly completed her undergraduate degree in music therapy (and vocal performance) at Seton Hill University. In her home state of Maryland, she has worked with a variety of people including those at end of life or facing life threatening illnesses. Kelly is currently in the midst of completing her Masters in Music Therapy through Slippery Rock University where she is embracing and understanding the importance of cultural sensitivity and social justice in music therapy (and life).
Kelly looks forward to fostering a space where the creative process between music, people, and therapist can lead to healing and wellness in various aspects of life. Kelly enjoys songwriting and song analysis along side the many possibilities music has to offer in music therapy.
Cost is $10. Pre-registration is encouraged.
